Meuban have already started working on their sophomore album and have debuted new material live – but then the world stopped.
Uncertainty became boredom, boredom became fear, fear transpired anxiety and anxiety turned to apathy. But from there, a way to revitalize the body and the mind came in the form of digging through old recordings. The band listened, deconstructed and reorganized unreleased material as a way to create without being able to meet, play or perform.

The first really deep dive was with Oak, a piece that was sitting in the back of the band’s mind for a while, probably waiting for the right time to re-emerge: a long, improvised track with a great force bubbling under its contemplative surface. The band describe it as an imaginary trip through unconventional woods.
Something in the loose, yet somehow deeply charged energy of the recording has made it impossible to recreate; like finding and ancient tree in the middle of an imagined forest.

The opening track of the EP, Melting, was also taken from those sessions and serves as a perfect intro/outro to the necessary mental state: guitars and synths that ooze over the thunder of drums coming from a distant place in the dark; the feeling of being alone in a world that is both parts ending and beginning.
